Clang Colour

Dark is the world we snakes are living in.
Sombre and silent, cold and stiff.

They are scared of us, for being what we are.
Stiff are our lidless eyes, without emotion in our face. We neither have legs nor wings nor fins and still, we manage to slide away, faster than some of you runners do.
But no, crawling is what you call it. Crawling. What dismissive, low term this is.

Our world is silent, deaf as we are. The last stertorous breath of our prey, the thunder in the skies, the patter of rain on our scales, the wind's howl - everything is regardless to our equals. At least, this is what you think, don't you? That must be it, tells your little mind, which couldn't imagine how it must be to look through the eyes of a snake, devoid of any voice, as you foxes call it - isn't it?

It never happened before that one of us talked to a fox and no other snake will do it again.
We are way too different.
So, why can you understand me? you may ask. How can it be that i can hear your words, being all deaf?

I see them, fox, i taste them. Darting them.

Your words, the colours of fear that dance around your face, the taste of unbelief which surrounds you.
Wonderful colours, they are.

Clang colours, fox.
