One single drop by Culpeo-Fox One single drop by Culpeo-Fox
He was posing like a boss and directly looking at me when i took the shot. Just as if he wanted to make sure that i'd notice that tiny drop on his snout.

'D nvm. Habe gerade den dritten Comment gelesen. Sorry.

Du bist oft in Thailand? =3

Snakes really make great pets depending on the type you get. They're a pretty big responsibility too, depending on the breed. I know that mine's life expectancy can reach up to 30 or 35 years [I have a ball python; she's usually a sweetheart. >w<], so you should expect to be willing to care for him a long time. I mean hell, that's longer than a mother spends supporting her child [which usually ranges 18-25 years, depending on if they strive to get anywhere in life]. Keep in mind that this'll be a living, breathing creature that you'll have to support for the rest of its life, and that you must do so in a quality manner. I wouldn't recommend getting a snake if you feel that your desire to keep one is just a whim. And a lot of snakes kept as pets aren't usually dangerous, as long as you utilize the gift of common sense. You know, feed them regularly, care for them correctly, keep them in a secure terrarium, DON'T wrap them around your neck, treat them in a respectful manner, handle them on a regular basis, show them affection, treat them in a RESPECTFUL manner [did I mention that already? :P]...stuff like that. If you feel really strongly about having a snake as a pet, I would be persistent when convincing your parents to let you get one. Prove to them that you're responsible enough to care for one without killing it or it hurting you in some manner. Do a lot of research when looking for a type as well; it shows that you're passionate enough about it to get as much information as you could possibly need, whether it comes to choosing a species, or caring for that species, and you definitely don't want to get into this without an extensive idea on what you're getting yourself into. I mean, I spent three years researching and convincing my parents to let me get my baby, and it really paid off. If you're really serious about this, I wish you good luck, dear. ^w^

Back then, i spent about....i dunno....ten years and even more begging my parents to allow me a pet snake? And i was hella persistent, i had the arguments, i could even took them to snake farms and show them snakes in person, proving that they're not greasy or malicious at all and so on (and they were actually surprised how gentle a corn snake can be). Yet, it sadly was a wild-goose chase. My parents hated snakes with a burning passion and one of the many things they couldn't understand about me was why i was so different in that matter again (my mother, who is a pious buddhist, should know, though. There is this popular tradition that every weekday represents one certain aspect in the life of Buddha and, what do you know: mine had to be the one with Buddha resting under the shadow of Naga, who happens to be snake king. :P )
On the other hand i can understand my mother's hate for snakes in particular since she comes from Thailand where the largest venomous snake of the world (the king cobra) and the largest constrictor of the world (the reticulated python) meet each other at the entry door - Thais from the southern region have dozens of stories about vengeful snakes and they all believe in them. Everyone hates snakes there. No matter if venomous or not, if they see one they kill it. Don't even try to argument with scientific reason, there's no point in doing that.

Therefore, if you can convince your parents - you are the lucky one. If the poster above has a mother of my calibre she won't get anywhere, though. :/ "Snakes are evil" - it's a common thought and there is not much you can do about it. The only thing one can do then is waiting until you are old enough to move out and finally do and get whatever you want. :P

But every once in a while you get lucky.  The snaking disliking mom in our family eventually came around and now she loves our beautiful little corn more than anyone.  ^..^

Ah danke ;w;

XD When I decide that I will get one I probably will do a lot of research. Before I got my Jack Russell I spent hours reading articles and books about taking care of terriers and jack Russell’s and puppies in general. And I was eight XD

I might get one when Im older, maybe, depending on how life plays out. ^^ thanks for the tips though! 83
