"A magician fox?", Khohai asked while he nibbled on his fishbones. "Oh yea, i heard of those oddballs. Weird foxes, trying to be something better."
"You don´t understand, old mite", Never replied. "I´m not talking about these harmless idiots - that fox was a real magician...he did unbelievable things, i´ve seen it. And his fur is white!"
Now, Khohai looked up. "Dear - did ya eat an ill rat again, eh? Been a long time since i heard such nonsense! There are red foxes, black foxes, even hybrids of the two - but no white ones. There never were. Not of our kind, at least. Even our mythology doesn´t have any and i guess i don´t have to mention how colorful some critters are in there."
"I´m telling you the truth!", the young vixen insisted.
"Amusing."
Never stopped and sulked. She was surprised about her own disappointment. That old mite didn´t believe her.
The dog fox grinned. "Ya cute when ya talking nonsense. Should do that more often. Fish?."
Never wrinkled her nose.
"And you are disgusting, as always. No thanks."

EDIT: because i read it for about...three times now.
these two guys are NOT talking about arctic foxes. "there are no whites foxes. not of our kind, at least." as khohai said. (in other words - not of the vulpes vulpes-kind). they´re talking about white red foxes. the whole scene is happening at the time of the old victorian london - white red foxes were quite rare at that time - and the two foxes you see are ordinary urban foxes who never came out of their city and around - so they don´t know about fur farms either.
and in THEIR mythology within THEIR story that I invented, there weren´t any white foxes, because i said so. savvy? : D
