My favorite thing about this piece is that it tells a story. Not all of the details, mind, but enough to make you curious.

There is a grittiness that pulls everything into a different time--Or at least gives us the feel of it. There's the detail in the hair. Most of all, there's a skillful minimalism in the face that creates the perfect expression.

That last is quite impressive, capturing the expression you wanted without the nuances and use of a precisely detailed face, and instead with only a few well placed lines.

The technique and intrigue of this piece are absolutely fantastic. Wonderful work.
